Tara, Molly & Mandy, Olive, and Dexter:
my dog was car sick since he was a pup and use 2 hate even being near a runnin car or open door of a car. i was told to give them treats or toys while sitting in it non-moving, then we moved up to just sittin in the car while it was runnin. He's finally over being scared or puking, it was at drooling but now he loves sitting at my feet or on my lap sleeping.
i didn't see any evidence of that in this clip–though perhaps there was some improvement in the full episode.
even if there was improvement, or something that looked like improvement, the fact still holds that millan pretty much abused this dog to get him to do something that is completely fixable with positive reinforcement.
i don't know about you, but if i was afraid of heights i would not appreciate being pushed off an airplane. because that is essentially what millan is doing.
with all due respect……are you blind? the dog got a little coax up then he stepped into car himself.apparently you haven'tseen dogs that really dig heels in and refuse to budge, or you haven't seen a dog pitch a fit about something. i stress, again, you just have to see the whole show. and shoving a human out of an airplane is not good for the human. so u r wrong to compare. getting this dog in a car with his pack is good for the pack. pos. reinforc. encourages the bad behavior in this case.
why do dogs like wet floor?
I count 3 dogs that were killed after Millan 'rehabilitated” them. The man is a useless shit and dogs are dying from people trying to copy him
I believe dogs sweat through their feet, therefore cool surface feels good. Also explains laying in the dirt, this provides cool contact to a larger portion of the body to cool the blood and thus lower body temperature.
Right or wrong, it seems that is almost a dominant dog action. “Claiming” the truck, and then defending the territory it has now claimed.
i no dont you hate how many people hate on him especially trainers he doesnt really train dogs most of his cases are dogs that you cant help givivg a treat they think if you have a treat in hand the dog will listen i hope there would be a way to test these dumb people
bleah..troppo aggressivo secondo me!
I am The Dog Whipper! Come see how I break down AboutDogTranny3 using only Ceaser's methods!
Crap…
nice job
Seriously, I hope he charged this guy a ton of money. Good Grief.
Omg its a dog get in the…. wait a min…
@eazyduzitjacob oh shutup >.
is the dog a ridgeback??? or a pitbull mix????
@eazyduzitjacob He explains that in some episodes. He uses the leash at the uppeer neck of the dog to control the atention of the dog. He is not choking but he is directing the dog to what he wants.
That dog is completely terrified. He's flooding her, not “miraculously curing her”.
@eazyduzitjacob omg, he had to control the dog, to go into the car. that's not choking, he explains a million times that he only directs the dog.
Why are people bad mouthing Ceasar? He gets the job done and seems like a great guy. WTF?
@Mal1234567 Well yeah, but doesn't the dominant wolf uses S-R techniques to train his pack also?
@Mal1234567 Firstly…I don't really give a shit. Secondly, wild dogs are pack animals (in case you never realised). Pack animals ALWAYS have a pecking order. There is ALWAYS an alpha dog. I also liked the positive reinforcement Ceasar used with the water. But that doesn't mean punishing bad behaviour doesn't work too. I bet u wouldn't argue with Ceasar, he would make u look like a bitch with just 3 words.
@keckvan66 The vehicle shown is not a “normal car” in the US or any country. It is a truck. In this case, a 4-wheel drive utility vehicle designed for rugged off-road use. There are miles and miles of mountainous trails for recreation in that part of California. This model is a Toyota FJ Cruiser. It is similar to a Land Rover, which is common in many countries.
@MsLabMom so people should just beat and yell and starve dogs huh? your a dumbass whitey
@Keckvan66…. where do you live? In England? And yes, unfortuantely anyone can drive one of these cars, even a 16 year old teenager who barely got their driver's license. I lived in England and actually liked the fact that not just anyone can drive a big vehicle, they actually have to have alot of experience.
@Crejaksiaan4ever then, dont watch it
why's he chokin the dog, man?
My dog hates water; rain, baths, the pool, even wet sidewalks & grass. I noticed Cesar uses water a lot to calm dogs but my dog does not feel calm with water. How do I get her to enjoy it, or at least not be bothered by it?
Cdw
ROFL @ “unique strategy”… wtf he PULLS the dog with a traditional collar, THEN he does some useless stuff like putting a water bowl… endless FAIL from this guy, and a bad mistake by NatGeo…
I love it how he drags the dog into a car with a choker…
@83912daniela Are you kiddin me? César Millán Culiacán, Sinaloa, México, 27 de agosto de 1969. Or what? You think he is German?
keep moving, keep moving! just steps! And then he pulls the leach on the dog!!! bheuuuuww deuhhhhwwww bwweeuuuggghhhh!
good dog, you're inn!!!
cesar is a freaking genius 🙂
wish i had a dog 🙁
@deeeeecoy u can foster one temporarily
@hakan999999999 It is funny the way you refer to psychology as if it was a precise science like math, when even the psychologists themselves are divided into 3 different camps, all of them arguing which one is the right. So far, psychology has not proved shit either way.
i have a similar problem with my dog and her kennel she would go in if i escort her but she wont stay there for more than a minute
ur so good. cesar. i love what u r doin. you helped lots of fella
@MsLabMom if u have proof then go report him. otherwise just back off lady.
@MsLabMom dose commands alone works for your dog then you must be related to each other.
@MsLabMom Mom shoud read his books b4 posting. It's obvious, that you do not understand Cesars philosophy at all. I am living his philosophy in my own pack of about 12 dogs for now more than 2 years. As a dog sitter I've learned, that about 10% of the dogs (the packleaders) are different than the rest of them (followers) and THEY take our communication VERY SERIOUSLY. Unfortunately u will never be able to help the 10% dogs/owners with human nor mom's psychology…Shame on your comment!
LOL. Yeah and when our Dalmation disciplines our Pit-bull puppy by making her squeal and taking her to the ground then standing over her I can have my Dalmation up on abuse charges. Lol YOU'RE AN IDIOT. He treats them like DOGS, basing his training techniques on how DOGS discipline other DOGS. They're not fucking human babies!
Hi Troll
I have never seen Ceasar choke, kick, punch or slap a dog. Pulling yes, and did you hear the dogs yelp? No. He gets results and the dogs calm down. Dogs are animals. Smart animals yes but does that mean they are reasonable? You can't reason with something that is territorial or aggressive by nature. You either assert dominance or allow the dog to dominate out of fear and confusion. We created dogs through breeding so we are responsible to teach them.
Unique technique my ass. They really needed to call someone else in to show them how to drag a dog into a car against their will until the dog gives in and starts climbing in robotically?
pathetic. anyone can drag a dog into a car. like to see a young child doing this!!
ask yourself what is the dog learning??
WTF is WRONG with you MsLabMom? Mental much?
Well why you say that??Is there any sign…oh yes!!The poor dog even by the end of the day keeps it's tail between it's legs…but of course for so many clueless people that doesn't mean a thing. Also, “positive assosiation”?No I don't see any…Hey,I also saw your channel & your videos..too bad I cannot live any comments…just wanna let you know they are great and very helpfull for those that are interested on real training…:-)
Yeah, I was tired of all the comments justifying Millan's abuse and the ad-hominem insults so I disabled that function.
I'm very happy for the few opinions that I've been able to change for the better and those that advocate against abusive methods utilize some of the videos I've uploaded.
It kind of blows my mind. His fans argue that they care about dogs, but then they also argue for treating them like garbage. It doesn't make sense. It's blind obedience to authority (Millan).
Well you did-it's getting really tiring I know.Personally,I've gone through many phases regarding training & at some time(when the episodes where a little bit “lighter” in content)I thought of trying his methods.I immediately realised how stupid it was me acting like an animal, like my dogs couldn't understand me if I just explained. So for the last 3-4 years I've been practicing positive force-free training and, hopefully, gonna be a professional trainer next spring.Feel free to check my channel:-)
Thanks, I will. 🙂 It's ALWAYS nice to see someone in this profession who trains dogs without force and by utilizing science and education. Like you, the more I learn, the less intrusive I become in my methods. The most educated professionals in this field don't use physical punishment and intimidation. Big surprise. Anyone can bully. Young children do it well. You don't need an education, you don't need much thought. It's just intimidation and brute force. Not at all impression, in my opinion.
Not at all impressive, even.
Thanks, this video helped me get my dog to go in the back of my pickup (with the canopy on it which he HATED).
Yes I would love to. The point i am making is that we need not make dogs do things by force; and by doing so the underlying issues are not dealt with. This dog is giving so many stress signals and yet is described as 'calm'. The poor dog is terrified. There are better ways than using intimidation and pseudo-quack psychology. If you want to be part of the C21st I suggest you look at the AVSAB statement re dominance theory, unless you prefer to use force that is?? Look at Holly and Shadow vids too
So have you seen the clip with Holly and Shadow and they're just 2 of the many? At the end of the day, why use force if no need? Why shock/strangle/kick/punch dogs if no need? If there's a better way why not use it? Why get bitten when no need? Why not listen to people who study and research dogs? Would you let your child see an unqualified psychologist if there were issues? In car case the dog is still stressed and fearful. Anyone can drag a dog around – what about teach it another way??
So you are saying that you shouldn't treat your dog like a person, but it's ok to act like a dog? Cesar's methods are outdated and dominance theory has been disproven. Please do some research.
Stay away from dogs, please.
45 people disagree with you
It says he's provided support, it does not say they have adopted his methods. That's unthinkable!
He probably provided support in the way of 0.0001% of his many millions of dollars, just for promotional/boasting purposes.
omg, how Dare you compare this cruel, lying fuckwit to the wonderful Steve Irwin!! How can you people be so blind??
Forgotten your meds again, Raf?
That's so wrong it's not funny. You obviously know nothing about clicker training, so don't insult us by mentioning it.
You just have no idea, do you? Shame.
I've treated my dog exactly like a human. And I've never had a single problem, if anything, she's incredibly smart and knows at least a hundred words.
The problem is that dog parents don't put limits on the dogs just like they would a human child. That's the problem. They let them do everything….and then you have a problem dog.
You're an idiot!
What a lovely eposide and now turn the air-conditioner up on high.
Cool. I'll use this to train my fat girlfriend to put the lotion in the basket
I can't get my dogs OUT of the car. They sit there and stare at me like “Well, here we are – we're home, like you said – I think it's been long enough – can we go back out now?”
i do agree both the positive reinforcement or cesar's way to train our dog. If you already have a calm submissive or happy go lucky dog, go with the positive rein. cesar has been working with dogs for 25 years but most of them was a mentally unstable dog that forced him to use a leader-dominant concept to train them. So, be wise.
I love the dog whisperer
Dude, quit being such a whiny bitch. I mean seriously, do u know how many dogs/families he's helped?? You call it abuse, i call it effective. Punishment/discipline is extremely necessary when it comes to a defiant/angry dog, The only fucked up thing i've ever seen him do was swing those small dogs around by the scruff of their neck, until i read about it! It actually does remind them of when they were a puppy. Bottom line is that you're a pussy and its people like you who are ruining this world
Yeah, try explaining things to a Pitbull, lol/. They're well known for their reading comprehension and high level reasoning skills, hahahaha. People like you who think that dogs are actually humans always fail in their training. People who understand dogs and the way they think are those who are successful.
People who listen to you = FAIL
I no support ceaser, but I will always respect his mindset with not applying HUMAN emotions to dogs, which are, animals. No matter what this fur mommy society believes and views them as. People see every thing as abusive, cruel, or mean when it comes to proper dog ownership's/training's and it's just beyond outrageous. If you don't constantly give sweet loving cookies and speak with baby voices to your dog for them to learn something, you are somehow being cruel to that dog lmao.
can this guy read any sort of canine body language?!! 'He's not panting from the anxiety, he's panting because he's hot'. Panting with a flattened tongue at a fast pace with ears back, pupil dilation and tail so tightly between the legs……he is forcing the dog to become stressed!! he's trying to force a positive association upon the animal! this guy knows nothing!!!!!!!
easy. In one video i watched he walked an italian greyhound around other dogs (which it does not get on with) and the dog started barking and lunging at the dogs. Cesars solution was to pick the little dog up and take it up close to the dogs it was lunging at. Smart move! Not! the greyhound was trying to escape and couldnt so became even more aggitated. Next: In order to get a labrador to overcome its fear of water Cesar dragged it into a swimming pool by its lead. Humane?! I think not!!
you should learn about REAL animal training with REAL trainers baby
Cool as a cute cucumber
What Breed is Olive?
LMAO Hilarious.
Yasmine Burley, your an idiot! Cesar Millan is a Certified Dog Behaviorist. He rehabilitates aggressive dogs and teaches humans how to keep their dogs ANIMALS and not treat them like CHILDREN. That's why dogs turn on their humans. Because HUMANS tend to treat their dogs like children and not like the ANIMALS they are. He's using techniques that a DOG would use to control it's pack.
Millan isn't certified by anybody. He isn't a behaviorist either. He just plays one on TV
Olive Update: she loves car rides and jumps in the Toyota all by herself. She started doing this only after a few weeks post Milan's visit. A complete success. Thanks again Cesar
you´r a real idiot all day trying to argue that cesar does animal abuse looool you´r an idiottt think about what you say… grow up… look for knoledge…
hey hey! Have you tried – Carkerakita Hound Master (do a google search)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it from my father who got great obedience achievements with their puppy.
0:18 dog weiner
I have been trying for months to get my dog in the car. He's disabled and won't go up the ramp so I need to try this technique
Ceasar, please help me. My dog hides when i say… u wanna go bye bye. He hates getting in the car but once i drag him in, he is ok.
My dog doesnt even want to closer to car she is so scared
We have the same problem with our 100 pound Golden Retriever. We can't lift him at all and he won't go up a ramp. He always just jumped in the car until he banged his leg trying to get in. Now, he is very resistant. Maybe some of Cesar's tips will help. Anybody got any suggestions?
Geez youtube in 2007 was wild. All the argumentative comments but they’re impossible to follow because they’re all out of order, reply didn’t exist yet. lol
What season and episode was this?
Like the owner's response. He is really happy. Thanks 🇲🇽
I am going to try this with my four year old Newfoundland who does not like to get into our Landrover. Thank you so much for your great TV programmes I have found them invaluable with my dogs.
This worked amazingly! The wet towel was the trick and water as the “treat”. Also using the back of the SUV I think helped. Dog seemed claustrophobic in the back seat. He would get carsick, panting and drooling all the time. Wet the towel and he would lay on it. As soon as he would move up to see us he would start drooling. He went back to his towel and settled immediately. Thanks so much for this tip!!
