I'd like to see those overly sensitive misinformed “positive only” trainers deal with Molly and what they would've done. I have nothing but good things to say about positive only methods but it doesnt make Cesar Millan wrong in his methods. Those positive only trainers like to say there is no “alpha” there is no “dominance”. That's true to an extent, but it doesnt mean there isnt a level of respect for those in the “higher rank”. Cesar just reinforces that respect, but those sensitive trainers dont like to use the word “dominance” and “alpha”. Get over it.

When I was little my family adopted an American Eskimo. He always growled at us when we tried to pet him while he ate. Even took bites at us but our quick reflexes saved us 😂 I lowkey have trauma bc I won’t pet other dogs regardless of how “friendly” or cute their owners claim to be 🤷🏽♀️

I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the bites Cesar has gotten are because his attention is split. It's difficult enough when you are completely focused on a animal to see the signal, since fearful biters go from zero to a hundred very quickly and it depends on the dog if they'd go all the way and actually bite you. Since the animal world lives on bluffs. Especially fearful dogs since they are coming from a place of insecurity, since technically the bite is them panicking.
I hate hearing ppl think that it isn't about who's dominant and who's the leader. You just have to watch dogs interact with each other for half a second to see that it IS domiance driven, that's what respect IS. I think people forget that dogs are a mix of wolves and wild dogs, and they AREN'T domesticated in so much as what most ppl use that word. Domestication meerly means manipulated by humans, but it doesn't mean we created something new, since given half a chance ANY dog would revert. My dog is one of the few ancient breeds left since she wasn't bred by people, since Japanese ppl didn't keep pets until very recently. Thus she shows more wild dog traits from her screaming, to not keeping eye contact, to the fact that IF she were to escape no one would be able to catch her, and she'd be more then capable of surviving in the wild. Since unlike most dogs she not only hunts and kills everything she can, she also eats her prey something we humans have in essence bred against. Since our current hunting breeds and used as sport dogs, thus they help us track prey and go and retrieve the prey we've killed, but they don't kill the prey since that's the entire point the exercise and of course eating our kills would be totally unthinkable. The ONLY things dogs are trained to kill as pests hence the terrier breeds, and the daschunds type which are used to flush out prey. Now Shiba Inus, they weren't bred to help humans hunt, they weren't bred to flush out prey, or anything else bc they weren't bred by us. Now we've refined the breed over time by breeding them to look a certain way, however looks are by far the LEAST important part of a dog and the easiest to change since dogs have whats considered sliding genomes. Or in essence the ability to change drastically the appearance of the animal without changing what the animal is… since most of the time when there are drastic differences in the looks of a animal it means that their genetics have diverged a long time ago and thus they've become two separate species that CANNOT mate anymore or if it's still possible like between a Tiger and a Lion, or Liger. The offspring have traits not seen in EITHER animal (Liger), can only be bred one way or are sterile (mule). Mules are a great example since they are only ever born from a male donkey and female horse. Dogs however are different, they have no issues mating with wolves or wild dogs and more importantly they do so without human involvement. Though wolves due to their pack nature don't readily mate with dogs in wild due to their pack structure unless of course the dog is female and she runs across a lone wolf. However even a Yorkie can mate with a wolf or a Great dane. The ONLY limit is that the Great Dane better be the girl. lol This simple fact is why in the last hundred years we've went from only have a couple main dog breds to having hundreds. Bc unlike with most other animals dogs handle higher levels of inbreeding which is very essential to targeting a specific trait. Obviously Im NOT talking about breeding mother to son, etc.. Not that you can't get away with it for awhile. Im talking about the ability to use a very limited gene pool. Of course this type of breeding while essential in the creation of dog breeds, shouldn't be used nowadays since we now know better bc what it creates is the high likihood of health issues and genetic deformities. Thus the mixed breed is far more likely to be healthy then a purebred since the issues have been greatly compounded by dog shows. Since before what created a dog that others wanted to bred their dogs to is a great WORKING dog. ie they didn't care so much what exactly they looked like but what they were capable of doing. Dog shows have literally created such bad breeding practices its frankly embarassing. This isn't because of inbreeding but picking the WRONG sorts of dogs to bred. Thus now the German Shepard has such weak back knees, the military and police no longer use ANY German Shepards that were bred in America if they use the bred at all. Or the English bulldog, which has such a large head that the pups are born by c-section. Or the doberman that has a skull that is TOO small and thus creates all sorts of neurological issues. But most importantly we've created puppy mills, which create neurotic messes, horrible genetic issues due to prolonged inbreeding, and severe health issues. Thus we've taken extremely loyal dogs like the bully breeds and created monsters since of all the dog breeds none have been more poorly bred then them. However using dog breed specific legislation or DBS only increases their desirability to ill intent people. Since even if every pit bull was put to sleep today OR every pit was fixed and thus the breed was allowed to die out, it wouldn't change anything. Frankly, I believe the best practices would be to require ALL dogs to be fixed except those which are genetically tested, personality tested and bred ONLY by approved breeders. They'd also have to wait until the dog was at least two yrs old so they insure the health of the dog, and then genetically tested to insure the dog they are breeding isn't bred to another dog too genetically close and they arent both carriers of recessive traits. Obviously the price of the dog would increase, but it's the ONLY way to insure dogs are treated humanely and we don't continue reinforcing undesirable traits, and create dogs who'll end up being put down due to health issues, temperment issues, OR treatment issues. The final issue to insuring only those who are financially and physically capable of taking care a dog especially if the dog is larger and has the capability of causing greater harm. Thus if they want to own a powerful breed like a rottie, dobie, Mastiff, pit bull, etc… They should have to get a license. I mean we already ask dogs to be licensed, including cities like mine which require you to pay 100 per yr if you're dog isn't fixed. Though of course the ONLY way the city knows this is IF your dog gets picked up by the humane shelter otherwise it's not like they go around checking. Though frankly they should and could since all you'd have to do is require vets to inform the humane society the number of pups seen along with breed. As well as requiring breeders who want to be able to register their dogs breeds with the AKC, UKC etc… to both register with the state, and to only be allowed to keep two pups per dog unfixed per year. I worked for pet stores and a vet, and Im here to say, MOST people have unfixed animals purely bc they don't want to spend the money, though some have the dreams of breeding their dog and making money on the pups. Of course invariably what ends up happening is they end up with a mix of who knows what and thus a bunch more unwanted pups are born. Now I personally have a unfixed dog. However she's 5 and still hasn't had any pups, bc the reason I left her unfixed was because she's a amazing example of her breed, and her breed is a breed that was nearly wiped out due to the atomic bombs dropped, thus Ive loved the breed since I saw their pictures in a dog breed book when I was 6 since they look like little foxes. But I couldn't find any since they weren't even brought to the US until around the time I was born. Thus when I saw my first one in a pet store, my husband did the unthinkable and bought me him. I of course would have NEVER bought a pet store dog since they are poorly bred, poorly taken care of, and they're part of the massive puppy mills. Since mills target ANY dog breed thats popular like Jack Russel terriers or pomeranians, or rare. Unless they are english bulldogs. lol Since they have very small litters and the moms often die, and they have to birth the pups by c section.

One day i went to a waterpark with my fiance and i didnt know it was a dog day they let us in even though with didnt have a dog but we were only there for 15 mnts because the dogs were runing around without leash and some of them got close to me i said to my fiance lets get out of here cant stand these pets. I prefer cats but even cats can go crazy sometimes.
