This is my dog!! He is also a lab pit mix. He doesn’t jump fences but he pushed the chain link to slide out, dig holes, and rams wood panels out of the fence to get out and roam his back has a huge gaping hole that I have to keep taking him to the vet to get looked at bc once I get him healed he tears out again. I’ve tried chicken wire at the bottom, wire ties, I’m overwhelmed at this point it just started and he’s almost ten. Do u think neutering would help.? I rescued him when he was a puppy. His siblings were all being hit by cars and killed. I’ve never had this issue with dogs and could always keep them contained when needed but not my jakey- I love him but it cost me over $500 in 30 days attempting all of these various “hacks”.help me!!

If you have a dog that doesn't have recall at that age, that's a massive red flag about the most basic training IMO.Recall should be one of the simplest and earliest things you do with a dog.

My dog has taken to digging under the fence now the stray cats have taken the streets, she doesn't go into the road. I pretty much trained her not to. She goes to the edge of the road and watches the cats on the other side. She has lived in the back yard for 4 years and has just now started this. I fill holes in and another shows up the next day. She is on the front porch the next morning.

Its rediculous though, it is so simple to create inward curvs with mesh or wood at the top of fences and she will have no chance of ever making it over, they use the wire versions for tigers in zoos for christ sake but nooo, instead keep letting her be in danger and letting her out. Ant pull muzzle (Nothing restricting or to do with biting and some time spent correcting) is all thats needed for the walk issues, three strap system harness. Basically it is just people with no idea about anything, and a dog with all the ideas.

The last time my pit/boxer mix siblings escaped I found them running back home, one with a live chicken in her mouth! Told to drop it which she did and the dang chicken ran out in front of a car and got squished! We paid owner $100 to reimburse her chicken and to say sorry. We now have our entire acre property surrounded by a 6' fence. We walk them a couple miles a day but the second they see a chance they bolt and will NOT stop or slow down. Never had dogs do this before.

My family back in Bangladesh adopted a street dog and named it tiger. My dad and my nine year old brother take out tiger for walks everyday. But my mom is scared of dogs and she is so scared of tiger yet tiger wags his tail when he sees my mom. Dog whisperer, can you advise me on how to make my mom confident about tiger? My mom gives food to tiger but too scared to go near it. She uses a stick to push food plate near the dog. The dog stays out of our house not inside.

To be fair, this is more of a staffy mix, you can see this by the stature and measurements of the dog that they are dominantly a staffy mix. Having a mix myself they can be a very anxious breed but they are incredibly athletic. They need to feel secure (basic needs of living beings – accomdoation, fresh food and clean water) well-exercised and loved.
WHAT?!?! this is literally my dog! Did this family surrender Ivy? I rescued this dog (or its exact look alike, along with her houdini behavior problems!) in 2008. She passed away in 2019 and I am in tears to see her again! Literally, this is my dog!

I love that Cesar allows for this woman to run after her dog down the street. Running towards a dog to them means “I want to go where you are going” so they will continue in the direction you are running which ends up being away from you. He lets her run and then allows his “crew members” to wrangle in Ivy. Like come on this man does EVERYTHING incorrectly.

Wow, Ivy is like the unstoppable dog when she escapes and plus when she hears the loud compressor she runs away so that means she doesn't like loud noise just my dogs that I used to have they don't like loud noises either, the vacuum no, fireworks and all that no. Everything that makes loud noises my dogs really don't like the things that makes loud noises. My first big dog that is a boy German Shepherd lab mix it depends if he doesn't like it and my second little dog that is a girl white lab she really doesn't like the loud noises especially the fireworks when it's 4th of July she starts barking at it.
Our dog bougie does the same thing he goes for like blocks and blocks away all through town and sometimes it's one way and sometimes it's the other. We walked both of them the female States homegate wide-open I just hangs out. But bougie the mount always runs and what he runs we don't even know where he goes like he just disappears and we worry there's going to get hit by a car we can't find them he does find his way back but it's so upsetting cuz we love him so much we don't know what to do we tried Tae of dammit ride baby gates and everything. Help we need to find a way to have him stop getting away. On top of that he is a beagle he is a hunting dog so we understand he like the run in the woods. But we're like so upset because we live in town and people are just rude we got the ghetto busy streets and it's just so upsetting.
If you know your gonna have to chase your dog, why not wear running shoes? And not try and run fast?

I had a boxer dog like this. She'd disappear for hours and if you found her, it was a game to her. She'd have you chase her, stop, have you think she would cooperate, then smile and run. Infuriating. XDThe only time you could catch her was if she was out of breath or if you opened a car door—which scared me, because she would jump in ANYONE'S car. Anyone could just drive off with her if they knew that.
20 ft tall fence and a 15 ft deep fence would solve this. If it doesn't then this dog is a magician.
